FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What exactly is accent modification? Is it the same as accent reduction?
Accent modification is a process that a professional trained in phonetics uses to help you change your speech patterns. When an adult attempts to speak in a new language, they speak with the influence of their dominant language.
The goal is to use the new sound patterns effectively despite the influence of your dominant language. If your goal is to speak like a native American English speaker, we teach you how to do that.
The process is exactly the same with accent reduction. The term “accent modification” is used more frequently nowadays as our goal is not to “reduce” your accent but, rather, to add or modify a way for you to speak American English.
I’ve been speaking English for many years. Can I really improve my accent now?
Yes! With the right strategies and accent coach, you can improve your production of vowels, consonants, and intonation to sound more like a native American English speaker. We teach you how to do that in a short amount of time.
Please read the testimonials to see that progress truly can be made.
